This plan includes lessons for the three weeks before the STAAR Retest. The product includes revising and editing practice for every day and a thematic unit on media bias for the first week. The second week persuasive essay is tied to the unit. The third week consists of individual short stories and poems with practice on identifying literary elements and the author's message. I targeted on as many TEKS as possible. I have included everything you will need for the three-week period, including four stories, three poems, two articles, writing instructions, and activities for all.
 
These are not TEKS specific activities. This can be used in states other than Texas with slight changes in the writing component to match each state.
