"Hey You Down There" is a short story about the communication between a famer's wife and the underground denziens as they discover each other through the farm's recently dug well. 
 
This product contains higher-level thinking questions which require students to identify the strategies the author uses to convey his purpose. A vocabulary chart is included which expects students to define the meaning of words based on context clues. Writing activities give students a choice on how they want to cover the story.
